How the youth can change the world by doing this one simple thing

Look I know you are young. So am I. It doesn’t matter if you are in your teens or 20s. People think we can’t achieve things because we are young. We are the ones who are going to live for a long while. Not the older generations. A society that has been living with plastic everyday was not built by us, we were just brought up in it. We need to change it for ourselves and our future generations. I know that we don’t like to waste time or be told what to do. So, I will just state some facts and then you can decide what to do. One second. Yep, there, just in one second 160,000 plastic bags are used [1]. That adds up to over 1,000,000,000,000 (1 trillion) bags every year. That can circle the world SEVEN TIMES [1]. Okay, okay, but what does the amount have to do with anything? Well, over 44% of seabirds have ingested or become entangled in plastic [2]. For what? 12 minutes of average plastic bag use? [3]. 50% of the plastic we use, we use once and just throw away [4]. Only 1%-3% is recycled [1]. So, the rest of It will take 500-1,000 years for this to degrade [4] . It will just sit there for that long killing. I know I would like to wake up and know that I saved some lives. So, what can we do? Take at least one step.
